| Abstract: | A presentation to the Creative Writing Research Cluster at Glasgow University, following an invite by Research Co-ordinator Professor Stephen Burn. The talk, which introduced the GSA Visible Word Cluster along with key and emerging themes, was followed by discussion around aspects of practice-based research. Using the Caseroom as both archive and provocation and through the lens of their own practices, the cluster explores key themes which include: text as image; image as text; language into form; and form into language, with focus on materiality, craft, process, physicality and print history. This presentation to the Creative Writing Cluster at Glasgow University outlined a methodological approach, which includes collective workshops, themed conversations, and practical experimentation. It described the identification of overlapping practices, shared heritage, and emerging collective opportunities. It concluded with discussions on practice-based research and opportunities to meet again and continue conversation. |
